The Peterborough Chase is Huntingdon Racecourse’s most established and prestigious racing event of the year, bringing together a proud history, top-class Jump racing and an atmosphere like no other.
First run in 1969, the Peterborough Chase has become one of the most respected races in the Jump racing calendar. Over the years, Huntingdon has welcomed some of the biggest names in the sport to compete for this prestigious Grade 2 prize, with an illustrious roll of honour including legendary horses such as Desert Orchid, One Man, Best Mate and Edredon Bleu.
In more recent years, stars including Pic D’Orhy and Djelo have added their names to the history of this celebrated contest, with Djelo set to line up again this year.
Peterborough Chase Day is a highlight of the Huntingdon racing calendar, offering an afternoon of thrilling Jump racing, competitive fields and an incredible atmosphere both on and off the track.

Huntingdon Racecourse is a flat, right-handed circuit of approximately 1 mile 3 furlongs which provides excellent viewing. There are nine fences to a circuit, the open ditch in front of the grandstand providing a real spectacle.
