Warwick Racecourse Committee Members

 

Dan is a chartered surveyor and has been involved in property and minerals for the last 20 years. He farms in Northamptonshire where he lives with his wife, Clare, and two children.

Having been a Committee Member at Huntingdon since 2011 he moved to Warwick in 2019.

Dan is passionate about racing and comes from a family who are fully immersed in flat racing and have Lawn Stud near Towcester. He has broken the mould to become involved in National Hunt

 

Nell Buckler joined the Warwick Board in 2019. With a degree in Economics and Agricultural Economics, she assisted her husband with their mixed farm in Dorset and their National Hunt yard for twenty years.

 

Having moved to Gloucestershire she trained point to pointer and hunter chasers. She has been heavily involved in a grant-making charitable trust for forty years and has been a Samaritan involved in the prison service for ten years.

 

Both of Nell's daughters are heavily involved in National Hunt racing

 

James Davies is the Chief Executive Officer of Wigley Investment Holdings Ltd and has been part of the business for over 16 years. His strategic outlook and leadership skills allow him to oversee the performance of a diverse portfolio of companies, working alongside Wigley’s Executive Board, Directors and Shareholders to unlock value and drive growth.

 

 Alongside key members of his team, he has launched a very successful charity initiative (Wigley Support Fund) which works with military charities to help reintegrate veterans into civilian life. To date (2024), over £185,000 has been raised through the fund. In addition to this, he is also Chairman of the Wigley Community Fund, which, since its launch in 2021, has donated over £35,000 to local causes.

 

As well as leading Wigley Investment Holdings Ltd, James is a founder and Non-Executive Director for Newton LDP Ltd, an RICS-regulated firm offering land, development, property agency and consultancy firm with a focus on planning, development, and rural property.

 

With a background in agriculture, rural life and having grown-up around horses, James has a passion for racing/equestrian sport which has always been at the forefront of his hobbies and lifestyle. He owns, with a small group of property professionals, two horses trained by Ben Pauling and enjoys horses at home with his wife, Sarah, and two daughters, Isabella and Matilda.

 

Ambrose works in the Sport & Entertainment team at Howden Insurance Brokers where he helps oversee the running of their portfolio of racecourse clients and other horseracing industry associations. He also manages a book of disability business with a particular focus on professional footballers. He has long been a keen national hunt racing fan and joined the Warwick Board in 2024.

 

Cathy became a director at Warwick Racecourse during the 17/18 season. Whilst being involved with Warwick Racecourse, Cathy also drives the community bus and enjoys every aspect of country life. Cathy is mother to Sam and William.

 

Dermot Daly joined the Warwick committee in 2019.Following a Short Service Commission in the Army. He spent many years as an Asian stockbroker.

 

He has always had a keen interest in racing. His first job on leaving school was to work for Captain Forster.

James is a chartered surveyor with extensive experience in both residential and commercial property. He runs a number of businesses related to property investment and development. 

 

James is a passionate national hunt supporter. He rode as an amateur for 10 years competing in point to points and under rules, career highlights included riding in the Champion Hunterchase at Punchestown and completing the Aintree Foxhunters.
