Regional Director - East
Amy Starkey
I am the Managing Director for the East Region, overseeing our seven racecourses; Epsom Downs, Huntingdon, Kempton Park, Market Rasen, Nottingham, Newmarket and Sandown Park. I work with the team to set the strategic direction of all parts of the business – which includes supporting the General Managers of our courses here in the East, and working closely with the HOD’s to continue to ensure the Jockey Club remains the largest commercial group in British horseracing.
General Manager
Sophie Able
As the General Manager at Newmarket, I get involved in all aspects of the Racecourse. This involves working with all of our departments in both planning and delivery of our 39 racedays and also our conferencing and events business which operates throughout the year. My role on a raceday is to make sure that we as a team are delivering the best experience for all of our guests both on and off the track.
Racing Director
Andrew Morris
As Racing Director I oversee all racing matters across the East Region. This includes working with various different stakeholders within the sport – be that the BHA, Owners, Trainers and jockeys, I also oversee our hard working Groundstaff, who ensure the grounds are always in optimum condition. On a race day I act as Clerk of the Course for Newmarket, and my main duties are to make sure that everything happens safely and timely from an equine point of view.
Customer Relations Manager
Michelle Kerr
My team and I are here to help all customers get the most out of their trip to the races. One of us is always on hand at the Customer Relations Desk during your raceday, and we are also the main point of contact before and after your visit too. A key part of my role is looking after our Annual Badge holders – so if you’re a regular visitor to Newmarket, please feel free to get in touch!
